Security forces in Kaduna have successfully dismantled a network of cattle rustlers, kidnappers, and other criminals, marking a significant step in the fight against crime in the region.
In separate operations carried out across the state, two notorious gun runners and two cattle rustlers have been apprehended by the Kaduna State Police Command. Furthermore, a kidnapping attempt was successfully thwarted.
According to Mansir Hassan, ASP and Public Relations Officer for the Command, two individuals named Aminu Saleh and Jafar Ibrahim were arrested by the police. They belonged to a group responsible for stealing cattle from farmers in Kasuwa Magani of Kujama region.
Akin to this, Hassan released a statement on Sunday stating that law enforcement thwarted an abduction effort and apprehended Umar Baso, Shehu Filani, and Babangida Abdulkarim. The suspects had demanded N10 million from the individual they intended to abduct.
According to him, Dahiru Liman and Sani Abdullahi Makeri were arrested by the police for providing guns and bullets to kidnappers who carry out their operations in Kaduna, Katsina, as well as Zamfara States.
He stated that the mission resulted in the retrieval of a counterfeit AK-47 rifle and five live 9mm ammunition units.
According to the police spokesman, State Commissioner of Police Audu Ali Dabigi expressed admiration for the actions taken by authorities and advised citizens to stay alert and promptly notify law enforcement if they observe any dubious behavior.
He provided assurance to the inhabitants regarding Command’s determination towards disassembling criminal groups and guaranteeing the welfare and security of all individuals throughout the region.
“Police Operatives conducted a successful raid on August 22, 2024 at a hideout in the Kasuwa Magani area of Kujama, Kaduna that was being used by a notorious syndicate involved in cattle rustling. Two suspects – Aminu Saleh (25) and Jafar Ibrahim (24) were apprehended during the operation and later confessed to their involvement.”
Police Operatives arrested three suspects – Umar Baso, Shehu Filani, and Babangida Abdulkarim in a thwarted kidnapping attempt where they were demanding a ransom of N10 million. The incident occurred separately.
Furthermore, on August 24th of the year 2024, two individuals identified as Dahiru Liman (47) and Sani Abdullahi Makeri (45), were apprehended by Operatives. These suspects had been involved in furnishing weapons and ammunition to kidnappers who operated within Kaduna, Katsina, and Zamfara states. As evidence from their operation against these criminals emerged a fake AK-47 rifle alongside five rounds of live ammunition that belonged to the caliber 9mm was retrieved during investigations.
CP Audu Ali Dabigi, the Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, applauds the operatives for their diligent efforts and urges citizens to remain alert by reporting any dubious activities. He guarantees residents that his command is dedicated to eliminating criminal syndicates while ensuring everyone’s safety and welfare.
