A group of robbers has been captured by the Lagos State Police Command on suspicion of specifically targeting and robbing three sex workers who operate along Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, located in Bode Thomas within the Surulere Local Government Area.

On Friday, it was confirmed by Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the state command that two individuals were arrested on August 28, 2024 concerning their participation in the crime. The identities of these suspects have not been revealed to the public.

The perpetrators deceived the sex workers by inducing a false belief of being transported to their alleged lodging place, but abruptly halted midway and left the victims in disbelief.

The suspects purportedly robbed the sex workers of their possessions after bringing the vehicle to a halt. The stolen items encompassed two iPhones estimated at N1.5m, one Redmi Note 12 valued at N140,000 and an iPhone XR costing approximately N240,000.

The police reports indicate that the suspects compelled the victims to transfer N25,000 and N8,000 into a singular account during the event.

According to Hundeyin, the suspects who robbed them were identified by the victims. The victims claimed that they were hired as prostitutes on Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Bode Thomas. Following this revelation, authorities apprehended the culprits.
