The Delta State Police Command has arrested a suspected cultist accused of attempting to negotiate the purchase of an AK-47 rifle for N1.3 million.
This development was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday by SP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer.
The statement indicates that the suspect is recognized as a member of the Vikings Confraternity, a notorious cult group in Nigeria.
During questioning, the suspect allegedly admitted to the crime and confessed to attempting to obtain the firearm.
Edafe mentioned that someone claimed to be a member of the Vikings Confraternity and was aiming for the top position. To qualify for this role, it was required to possess an AK-47 rifle.
He was taken into custody while attempting to purchase the AK-47 rifle for N1,300,000.
