After being given a 72-hour deadline to honour a police invitation, musician Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, was detained by Ogun State police.
The artist was seen cursing and roughhousing several police officers assigned to the leisure centre he runs in Ogun State in recordings that went viral on Tuesday.

The police have subsequently denounced Portable’s behaviour, with the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, claiming that the musician acted irrationally and insulted police personnel who were just doing their job legally.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state’s police public relations officer, revealed that Portable had been detained after the singer’s deadline to accept the invitation passed.
“The artist is at the police state headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta,” he told Channels Television in a phone conversation on Friday.
The PPRO stated that the performer would be charged in court as soon as the inquiry is over.
