The police have arrested a major figure involved in the #EndBadGovernance protests, leading to heightened tensions.
Bashir Hadejia has been arrested by the Police after he purportedly confessed to funding a considerable number of youthful demonstrators in the recent #EndBadGovernance protests that happened throughout northern states.
Police reports reveal that Hadejia not only allegedly participated in the demonstrations but also admitted to supporting the attack on Jigawa State APC headquarters.
Hadejia’s apprehension came after numerous intelligence reports exposed his complicity in smuggling sizeable caches of arms and significant quantities of gold bars, allegedly pilfered from the Central Bank of Libya.
He is accused not only of transnational crimes but also money laundering. On charges including subversive activities against the government, high treason and other international offenses, he was taken into custody over the weekend.

Hadejia has been accused of supporting terrorism and other criminal operations in several states, along with his supposed accomplices.
Whilst being apprehended, officials stumbled upon evidence that suggested the guilty party was posing as others.
This consisted of records tracing notable individuals and a passport from Vanuatu with an expiry date of September 14th, 2030.
The inquiry revealed a footage in which Hadejia paraded gold bars, weighing around one ton and bearing Gaddafi’s statue imprint. These were suspected to have been pilfered from the Libyan Central Bank.
Hadejia is said to be aiding the authorities in their investigation by revealing the names of his supposed supporters and acquaintances. This includes a previous director of the Department of State Security Service (DSS).
