Police and the army killed five unidentified gunmen in Anambra

A five-person gang of unidentified gunmen has been neutralised in Anambra State by a police and army squad working together.

On Sunday, at around six in the morning, the gang broke into the 33 Police Divisional Headquarters in Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area.

According to DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the public relations officer for the Anambra State Police Command, who confirmed the attack, the gunmen’s car, Ak47 weapons, charms, and other stuff were found on them.

Ikenga also said that the gang rushed the police headquarters and started shooting randomly in an attempt to get inside. However, the police officers who worked there fought back hard and stopped them.

He stated that, “The combined security team, made up of the Police and the Military, today, Tuesday, February 19, 2023, at 5:58 am, neutralised a gang of five armed men, recovered two Ak-47 rifles, one Toyota Sienna vehicle with Reg No. Abuja ABC 848 EQ, charms, and other incriminating items, in response to a distress call on an attack at 33 Police Divisional Headquarters, Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Oyi LGA
