Police alert issued regarding potential terror attack in Kano
The Kano State Police Command has issued a warning about a potential terrorist plot to attack public gatherings at key locations throughout the state.
This information was included in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Friday in Kano.
The announcement advised residents to be cautious and steer clear of crowded places until further notice, allowing security agencies time to identify and neutralize potential threats.
The Kano State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has obtained intelligence reports indicating that suspected terrorists are planning to target public gatherings at strategic locations throughout Kano State.
In light of this, we strongly advise residents to be cautious and steer clear of crowded areas for the time being. This preventive action will assist security personnel in identifying and neutralizing any potential threats, according to the statement.
Kiyawa stated that the Command has dispatched specialists from explosive ordnance disposal and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear units to key locations throughout the state.
