On Saturday, the former governor of the state, Bello Matawalle, received all the vehicles that the Zamfara State Police Command had taken from him.
The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar, verified the development on Saturday via telephone chat, stating that the vehicles were returned in accordance with the directive of the Federal High Court sitting in Gusau.
The court, presided over by Justice Aminu Bappah-Aliyu, had instructed the security forces that had taken the vehicles away from Matawalle’s homes in Gusau and Maradun to deliver them back within 48 hours.
Security personnel took the cars out of the former governor’s two homes on the state government’s instruction.
Yes, the police command has cooperated with the court order regarding the return of all vehicles owned by the former governor, Bello Matawalle, says Abubakar.
In Gusau, the Federal High Court, he assured that all the vehicles had been brought back.
More than 40 vehicles, according to Suleiman Idris, the governor of Zamfara’s spokesperson, were found in the previous governor’s two homes.
He confirmed that the state government’s order to the security services caused them to behave in that way.
