Anuoluwapo Amidu, 29, the manager of a filling station in Lagos, was charged by the police on Tuesday before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court with allegedly stealing N12,943,717 from Jamodam Oil and Gas.
The defendant, whose home address is unknown, is accused of theft on one count. He, however, entered a not guilty plea to the accusation.
At NNPC Filling Station, Km. 23, Lagos-Badagry motorway, the defendant allegedly committed the crime between 2022 and 2023, according to the prosecutor, ASP Clement Okuoimose.

Okuoimose claimed that the defendant had stolen N12,943,717.06 in Jamodam Oil and Gas property.
He asserted that between August 2022 and August 2023, when he was found by the filling station’s management, Amidu stole money from the company’s daily sales.
Okuoimose claimed that the accused was detained and given to police for prosecution.
He claimed that the charges were against Sections 287 of the Lagos Criminal Law of 2015.
The defendant was granted bail in the amount of N2 million by the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Fadahunsi Adefioye, with two sureties in the same amount.
Adefioye stated that N1 million of the money must be deposited in a registrar’s account, and the two sureties must be civil workers with at least Grade Level 12 status.
He then postponed the case until October 24 for mention.
