Amidst the news of Nkunku’s injury, Pochettino receives an unexpected triple Chelsea boost for Man City.

When Christopher Nkunku returns from his injury, which has been a long time coming, Chelsea’s team will appear much stronger. Though far better, it’s still not finished.

The France international joined the Blues in the summer transfer window for £52 million, although he hasn’t played in a competitive game yet. Nkunku had a significant knee injury and hobbled off in Chelsea’s final preseason game during their summer tour of the United States.

However, Mauricio Pochettino just updated Chelsea supporters on Nkunku in a positive manner. “He is doing really, really well; is working really hard,” Pochettino stated.

He’s close, so maybe we can get him back participating as soon as feasible. He is one of our most crucial players. He might get involved following this month’s international break. It’s uncertain.

Nkunku will therefore return to Chelsea shortly, but he won’t be available this weekend when they host Manchester City, the current leaders of the Premier League, at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. In any case, football.london looks at how Chelsea’s starting eleven may seem this weekend if everyone was healthy and available.

Robert Sanchez would be the custodian, of course. After moving from Brighton to Stamford Bridge in the summer, the Spaniard has had a mixed start to life, but overall, things have gone well, and he has established himself as Pochettino’s clear first choice custodian, at least for the time being.

Reece James, the club captain, who just returned from injury, will start at right back. We all know James is one of the finest in his position when healthy and available, and on Monday night he showed that by attempting to penetrate a high defence against Tottenham.

At first glance, Thiago Silva and Levi Colwill appear to be Chelsea’s two best centre defenders. Of course, others argue that Benoit Badiashile ought to be there, but right now, Silva and Colwill seem to be a better fit.

Ben Chilwell is, very properly, Pochettino’s first choice at left back when he recovers from injury. Marc Cucurella has been playing well lately, but Chilwell is a better player who gives Chelsea more offensive options and makes the team less exposed defensively.

Conor Gallagher is undoubtedly a member of the team because he has been Chelsea’s most reliable player thus far this season. The two most expensive players in Chelsea history, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, will be sitting next to him.

Over the past few weeks, the three have developed a wonderful bond. One of Chelsea’s strongest areas of the pitch these days is their midfield.

The tough part comes when you assault since Nkunku has to be present. With him on the team, Chelsea will have a consistent goal threat, something they do not have. He is yelled at to go as the No. 9 hence.

Though Raheem Sterling has had a great start to the season, Mykhailo Mudryk seems to have more to offer on the left side. Naturally, the talented Cole Palmer would take the right-hand spot.
