Isa Ali Pantami, the ex-minister of Communication and digital economy, has verified that a close acquaintance of his has generously offered to contribute N50m towards the N60m ransom demanded by the kidnappers of Najeeba and her siblings.
Pantami shared this update on his X account (previously known as Twitter) on Sunday, following the commendable efforts of concerned Nigerians on social media to gather funds for the requested ransom. It is worth noting that Nabeeha and her five sisters were abducted from their residence in Bwari, Abuja on January 2, 2024.
The ex-minister’s tweet reads:

I am personally not in support of paying ransom to criminals. However, since it becomes clear, we lost our daughter Nabeeha yesterday, and the 5 remaining daughters have been threatened, as I spoke with the father on the matter yesterday and today.…
