The Professional Football Association (PFA) has announced that Chuba Akpom is the winner of the Championship Players’ Player of the Year award.

At the Lowry Theatre’s 50th PFA Awards ceremony, the forward who was born in Nigeria took home the prize.

In the previous season, Akpom excelled for Middlesbrough, and for that, he received praise.

As the leading scorer in the Sky Bet Championship, the 28-year-old scored 28 goals.

Ajax, a juggernaut in the Eredivisie, has already agreed to sign the striker.

The award ceremony featured a performance by Nigerian music icon David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido.
