Plateau killings are clear example of an orchestrated act of genocide – Ohanaeze
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has strongly condemned the brutal killing of more than 150 individuals in Barkin Ladi, Mangu, and Bokkos Council Areas of Plateau State.
The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, expressed his shock and dismay at the gruesome massacre, which he described as an orchestrated act of genocide.
He questioned why, in this modern era, Nigeria still witnesses such barbaric and cruel acts of mass killings. Chief Iwuanyanwu lamented the ineffectiveness of the federal security architecture and called on President Bola Tinubu to ensure that those responsible for this heinous crime are brought to justice.
He also urged the Igbo leadership in Plateau State to provide support and solidarity to the affected families and victims of this catastrophe.
We, the sons and daughters of Igbo, extend our heartfelt sympathies to His Excellency Caleb Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State, the honorable people of Plateau State, and the esteemed Middle Belt Forum under the leadership of Dr Bitrus Pogu.
In this time of sorrow, we fervently pray to the Almighty for the departed souls to find eternal peace in His loving embrace. These words were expressed by Iwuanyanwu.
