The Plateau government has launched a new payment app to streamline salary payments for civil servants, ensuring easier and faster transactions.

The Pay Plateau App, a digital platform created specifically for civil personnel, was introduced by the Plateau State Government in an effort to expedite salary payments and lower administrative expenses.

The app was created in partnership with Smart Apps IT Ltd. and attempts to promote financial transparency by cutting down on paperwork and processing times for necessary documents like pay stubs.

According to Engr. Dominic Datong Gwaman, Director General of the Plateau State ICT Development Agency (PICTDA), this project is a component of Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s larger plan to digitally change the state.

Speaking during the app’s launch event at Jos’ Banquet Hall, New Government House, Gwaman emphasized the app’s significance in advancing the state’s digital agenda.

Important government figures attended the event on Thursday, September 26, including Mrs. Nanret Asabe Mangset, the accountant general, Mr. Stephen Pam Gadong, the head of civil service, and Mrs. Dongkum Grace Shwarta, the commissioner for finance.

There were other dignitaries in attendance, including Samuel Gwott, General Manager of Plateau Express Services.

Governor Mutfwang’s dedication to modernizing the public service was thanked by Head of public Service Mr. Stephen Pam Gadong, who was accompanied by Permanent Secretary Mr. Musa Nyam. He praised the Pay Plateau App as a tool that will reduce government employees’ workloads and boost productivity.

Messages of goodwill from other government officials flooded in, complimenting PICTDA and Governor Mutfwang on their vision. Additionally thanking the state government for the chance to further the state’s technology growth, Mr. Godwin Odoma, CEO of Smart Apps IT Ltd., promised to provide exceptional service.

The Pay Plateau App demonstration to salary officials and liaison officers from several Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs)—who will offer technical support to civil servants—was one of the event’s major highlights.

Through a faster digital approach, federal servants can access their pay information and related financial records, like pay slips, via the Pay Plateau App. To use the app, users will need to provide their unique Civil Service Verification Number along with additional personal information.
