The case was brought before the High Court of Delta State, Effurun. Instead of going to court, Davido has agreed to resolve the dispute through an out-of-court settlement.
As part of this settlement, Davido has also agreed to pay N30 million to the claimant within seven days of executing the terms of the settlement.
This payment is intended to contribute to the claimant’s outstanding legal fees in the lawsuit. It is worth noting that the claimant had initially sought N2 billion in general damages against Davido in the lawsuit.
Additionally, the claimant requested N150 million for legal and professional fees, as well as an extra N30 million to cover the cost of filing the suit.
The defendants in this case are David Adeleke, also known as “Davido,” and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited.
After extensive discussions and negotiations, the parties have agreed to perform at the “Warri Again Concert” edition on October 4, 2024, as part of the settlement.
Furthermore, the consent judgment states that the $94,500 already paid by the claimant to the defendants will be considered for the performance at the event.
