The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has requested to see the death certificate of Grace Taiga, the former Director of Legal at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. Taiga’s counsel, Daniel Alumun, informed the Federal Capital Territory High Court on November 4, 2023, that his client had passed away.
Taiga was facing trial for bribery allegations related to the Gas Supply Processing Agreement between Process and Industrial Development and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Despite the claim of her death, the EFCC’s counsel, Mohammed Hussain, insisted that the death certificate be presented in accordance with the law.
Taiga’s counsel requested more time to obtain the certificate, stating that it was not yet available. The court adjourned until March 6 for further updates on the death certificate.
