The casket was wrapped in Nigeria’s national colours, green-white-green, with his service cap and shoes prominently displayed on top.
Lt Gen. Oladipo Diya, the late Chief of General Staff and military administrator of Ogun State, was given a colourful send-off on Saturday in Ogun State.
The funeral was held at the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul in the Odogbolu, Odogbolu Local Government Area (LGA) of Ogun State, and was attended by President Bola Tinubu, who was represented by the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and the former head of state, General Abdulsalam Abubakar (rtd.).
Draped in Nigeria’s national colours of green-white-green, the casket was taken inside the church for the funeral, followed by family members and Diya’s longtime wife, Josephine Diya.
