Peter Obi’s aide has dismissed rumors that the Labour Party presidential candidate and his wife were arrested by the DSS, clarifying the situation amid circulating false reports.
Val Obienyem, the Media Adviser to Peter Obi- the presidential candidate of LP during the 2023 general elections – has refuted widespread hearsay that his boss was apprehended by Anambra State’s Department of State Services (DSS) while at home.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Obienyem discredited the rumors as untrue and groundless.
He claimed that Obi wasn’t present in Anambra State during the purported incident.
According to Obienyem, Mr. Obi was in Rwanda for significant engagements on Saturday but has now come back to Nigeria and is presently engaged in party and national issues while being stationed in Edo State.
No DSS operation took place at his residence and there were no arrests made.
