Peter Obi Supports Nigerian University with N50M Donation
Peter Obi has donated N50 million to a Nigerian university, showcasing his commitment to improving education and supporting academic institutions.
Peter Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has contributed N50 million to Shanahan University in Onitsha at its official inauguration.
At the event, Obi highlighted how crucial knowledge is becoming in today’s world by stating, “Knowledge is the currency of the future.”
He commended Archbishop Valerian Okeke, the founder of the university, for his visionary establishment of an institution that emphasizes education as crucial to future success.
Obi urged society to emphasize future preparation by investing in education and praised the church for its ongoing efforts in establishing world-class educational institutions.

He additionally announced that Shanahan University would provide students with free internet access until January 2025, further enriching their learning experience.
In his speech, Professor Obi Oguejiofor, the Vice Chancellor of Shanahan University, expressed the university’s goal to establish itself as one of Nigeria’s top higher education institutions.
He also announced that the first group of more than 200 students would receive tuition-free education for this academic session, highlighting the university’s dedication to offering accessible and high-quality education.
