Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president in the general election of 2023, has removed a tweet in which he addressed Bola Tinubu as Mr. President.
Obi, who is contesting Tinubu, the APC candidate, being declared the winner of the February 25 poll, had earlier criticized the president’s 120-car convoy in a statement on his official Twitter account.
In the now-deleted tweet, Obi stated: “Allegedly showing Mr. President driving with a convoy of roughly 120 cars. Even though I haven’t had a chance to watch the aforementioned video, my advice is still the same: leaders at all levels of government must begin making sacrifices for a better Nigeria.
Later, he removed the tweet and replaced the image of the “120-car convoy of Mr. President” with “a trending motorcade video.”
He stated in the latest tweet: “We can’t keep encouraging people to make sacrifices without making our own. Now that the people are suffering, the leaders must make sacrifices that are always visible and quantifiable. We need to lead the charge in finding solutions to the suffering right now.
