Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, travelled to the states of Edo and Delta to support the party’s candidates for governor and the House of Assembly in the March 25 election.
He also valued the backing he received at the election on February 25.
Former Anambra Governor Obi finished third in the presidential election, which saw Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) win the top spot.
Nevertheless, the LP candidate, who has contested Tinubu’s ascent, visited certain states to express gratitude to Nigerians for their support of his presidential campaign and to rally support for the party’s candidates the following week.

“Today, I travelled across the state of Edo. He tweeted about his trip to Edo: “I went by short to offer my sincere thanks to the OBIdients for their support and requested that they extend the same to the Governorship and House of Assembly candidates.
“Across the country, those who supported me did so out of a sense of optimism. Election rigging is not something I have ever done, nor have I ever paid someone else to do it. At a town hall meeting in the state, he declared, “I have never purchased votes, I have never paid anyone to vote for me, and I will never do so.
The LP candidate, who has a sizable young following, visited Agbor in neighbouring Delta State and urged restraint among his followers while the party pursues legal action about the presidential election.
“I’m passing through Delta State—a propitious moment to say a big thank you to the Delta OBIdients for remaining steadfast,” Obi wrote of the state where he received over 150,000 more votes than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), despite the fact that Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP vice presidential candidate, was the incumbent.
The LP chieftain implored his fans to support the party’s candidates in the March 18 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections while on a tour of Enugu, Abia, and Anambra States earlier in the week.
