The Labour Party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 election, Peter Obi, held separate meetings with ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and former Governor of Jigawa State Sule Lamido. Atiku shared photos of his meeting with Obi on Monday via his social media handle.

Following these meetings, the LP presidential campaign spokesman Tanko Yunusa stated that Obi visited these prominent figures to discuss the current “state of the nation.” The discussions focused on addressing the challenges faced by all Nigerians, especially the underprivileged, and highlighted the dire situation in the northern regions of the country.

Despite being Atiku’s running mate in the 2019 presidential election under the PDP, Obi decided to leave the party and join the Labour Party for the 2023 elections. Atiku, on the other hand, represented the PDP in the election but was defeated by President Bola Tinubu.
