Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate for the Labour Party, claimed that some Nigerian politicians will always act improperly because they are leading a false life.
Leaders who altered their academic records through certificate fraud before being elected into office are leading a false life, according to Obi, who appeared on Arise TV on Monday.
However, the former governor of Anambra, who advocated that academic credentials should not be a requirement for leadership posts, added that leaders should be open about their status
“There is no possibility that people could be acting in this way and be able to act correctly. Considering that this implies that they are leading a false life.
“The world is full of wonderful people who did not attend school. Abraham Lincoln is, in my opinion, America’s finest president. Because he came from a very impoverished household, he did not attend a previous school.
“He didn’t have to claim he had a PhD here or there to generate arguments like what we are having in Nigeria right now that are undermining the legitimacy of the country,”
“To be great, you don’t need to have all the degrees in the world, but you do need to have integrity in your past.”
According to Obasanjonews24, numerous governors, lawmakers, and even the president are currently embroiled in legal disputes as a result of inconsistencies in their academic records.
