Despite tribe and religion, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has reaffirmed that his goal is to lead the nation into the future.
Mr Obi made this statement on Friday in Enugu at a conference called “Shape the Future” that was put on by a group called the Boys Champion (BC).
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Noel Alumona, a Nigerian who has won a UN award, created BC to provide boys with training and mentorship as they grow into men.
Mr Obi urged the young people not to vote for a tribe or religion, pointing out that neither would make buying bread or rice cheaper than it already was in the nation.
To allow farmers to return to their farms and lower food inflation, the previous governor of Anambra State promised to ensure security for all Nigerians.
“By hiring more police and equipping them to combat instability, we will supply personnel in the security (sector).
“Investing in young is the only way we can transform Nigeria from a society based on consumption to one that is productive, and Nigeria must feed itself.
“This is the future we want to deliver,” he said. “My administration will abolish fuel subsidies and utilize the money to generate jobs for the youth.”
Mr Obi, who said the society should have given him the medal after he won the election and completed his term as president, turned down the honor.
He claims that he will cherish the honor if, at the conclusion of his term, he does a good job in office and Nigerians are satisfied with him.
Mr. Alumona had earlier claimed that he had brought the conference to Enugu to highlight the young people of Nigeria’s skills.
He emphasized that it was time for Nigerian youngsters to commit to long-term change that would affect their future and alter how things were done.
It’s not a man’s show, but by working together, we will bring about the lasting change that we all desire.
To advance our cause and therefore alter our nation and continent, Mr. Alumona declared, “We are going to employ all of our might, ability, and knowledge.”
