No real leader, according to Labour Party member Peter Obi, would take a holiday in Nigeria.
This was revealed on Monday by Obi, the LP presidential candidate, who visited the Akwa Central Mosque to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr with the Muslim community.
He advised Nigerians to avoid dividing themselves along racial or political lines.
“People who want to rest can go and unwind,” he remarked. I need to visit hospitals and schools and engage with people, so I’m not sleeping.
“No serious leader will travel to Nigeria to take a break. We’ll keep making as many visits and providing as much assistance as we can to them.
Remember that on Monday, the incoming president of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arrived back home after spending more than a month on holiday in Europe.
In the meantime, Tinubu declared in his speech following his homecoming that he was prepared to hit the ground running.
