Peter Obi Commends Dele Farotimi’s Commitment to a Better Nigeria
Labour Party’s Peter Obi visits activist and lawyer Dele Farotimi, praising his dedication to justice, equity, and national progress. A meeting of shared vision for Nigeria’s future.
Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, has characterized lawyer and activist Dele Farotimi as someone who aspired for a “better Nigeria.”
The former Governor of Anambra State praised Farotimi’s virtues in a series of tweets on Friday after visiting him.
The lawyer was recently released from a correctional facility in Ekiti State following their arrest on December 3 by officers of the Ekiti State Police Command.
The arrest was connected to accusations of defamation and cyberbullying made against him by the esteemed legal figure and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Aare Afe Babalola.
Babalola claimed that Farotimi defamed him in a 116-page book called “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System.”
Obi wrote, “I haven’t had the chance to meet with him since he returned from the correctional center in Ekiti. I was happy to see that he’s in good spirits and greatly inspired by his steadfast commitment to fighting for a better Nigeria.”
Dele Farotimi consistently demonstrates bravery when confronted with challenges, steadfastly advocating for good governance in our nation.
“I hope he has a successful and productive year as we continue collaborating on our country’s development,” Obi added.
