Peter Obi calls for swift government action to arrest and prosecute individuals behind the genocidal agenda, emphasizing the need for justice.

Mr Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), finds genocidal threats against the Igbo tribe and calls for their relocation to be extremely concerning.

According to OBASANJONEWS24, there is a trending social media hashtag #IgboMustGo on X that calls for the mandatory displacement of Igbo individuals from Lagos and other Southwest regions.

Obi emphasized the importance of promptly investigating, apprehending and prosecuting those responsible for the appalling agenda.

On Friday, via a post on his X handle, he implored individuals in positions of power to display leadership qualities and immediately denounce such polarizing language.

In his writing, he expressed that he had come across alarming messages on X regarding the Igbo tribe which contained threats of genocide and demanded their eviction.

I must emphasize that the use of such language poses a danger to our national cohesion and contradicts the very principles outlined in our Constitution, wherein each Nigerian is entitled to reside and seek employment freely within any part of the country.

Leadership is required from those in authority to promptly denounce such divisive rhetoric.

Prompt measures must be taken to examine, apprehend and try the culprits of this appalling agenda as a warning to those who may contemplate following similar paths that jeopardize our national security and unity.

Let us come together as Nigerians and promote unity, tolerance, and understanding while rejecting any speech that seeks to divide us. Our progress is rooted in our ability to cooperate peacefully towards a common goal.

Swift action must be taken by the government and security agencies to safeguard this essential principle, guaranteeing that every Nigerian can live without anxiety over discrimination or persecution. It is vital that our current difficulties do not create divisions among us.

Only by uniting as one people under God can we conquer our national challenges. -PO
