After the Super Eagles broke their losing run in friendlies, Jose Peseiro voiced his happiness.

At the Estadio Municipal de Albufeira on Monday, the Super Eagles defeated the Mozambican Mambas 3-2.

The three-time African champion has not triumphed in a friendly match in 16 games.

Peseiro rejoiced that the Super Eagles’ successful run had finally come to an end.

After the game, Peseiro commented, “I am happy because we have finally won a game after 15 matches.”

“In the previous five years, we had failed to win a friendly match. Although we have had seven draws and eight losses, today’s outcome was favourable.

The games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe for the 2026 FIFA World Cup are up next for Peseiro’s team in November.
