Portuguese powerhouse Benfica has received a coaching bid from Jose Peseiro, according to Obasanjo news24.
The 63-year-old began his coaching career in Portugal, where he has held managerial positions at FC Porto, Braga, Vitoria Guimaraes, and Sporting Lisbon, among other elite teams.

At the moment, Peseiro is in charge of the Super Eagles, the national team of Nigeria.
Next month, the Super Eagles will go to Cote d’Ivoire for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, captained by the manager.
It is the Portuguese’s mission to either win the competition or face termination following it.
Peseiro admitted that it won’t be simple to accomplish the goal, but he still expressed interest in the Benfica coaching position.
“Head Coach Benfica? In an interview with the podcast Ontem já era tarde, Peseiro stated, “There is ambition, but I don’t see it as an easy thing to achieve at the moment.”
“I wouldn’t feel comfortable making such a statement. Benfica isn’t among the top five Portuguese teams that I have already coached. I don’t think it’s particularly apparent, though, because in football anything can happen.
“I have a dream and an ambition, but I don’t put myself in a position to achieve it. There are those who make a stand, and this doesn’t seem good when Benfica has a coach and things are turbulent. Fortunately, the club president arrived to elucidate this point expertly; I commend Rui Costa. You would anticipate that from the president of a major league team.
