President Tinubu has received congratulations from former President Muhammadu Buhari on the Supreme Court’s ruling upholding his election victory.
He wished for a successful term in office for the president and his government.
Buhari said that he and the majority of Nigerians are relieved that the Supreme Court dismissed the petitions of Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Buhari reiterated his remarks from the earlier 6 September ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Court, which upheld President Tinubu’s victory, in a statement signed by the former president’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu. The statement said that the decision is “a reaffirmation of the will of the majority of the people against the determined will of a hard-fighting minority.”
“The country deserves a break now that we have reached the final bus stop, following an arduous eight months of costly legal journey,” he declared.
“The opposition put up a strong fight.” After using up all of their constitutionally granted rights, they ought to accept the government of Tinubu/Shettima @OfficialAPCNg’s hand of friendship.
“Let them let the government administer itself and let the people reap the rewards of the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) campaign promises in full.”
The former president also bemoaned the poor voter turnout across the nation, particularly in the cities, and suggested that this ought to improve considering Nigeria’s democracy’s acceptance and vigour.
