PEPT judgement: Dele Momodu criticises Tribunal judges, saying, “You should be pitied
Dele Momodu, a former presidential candidate and PDP chieftain, has criticised the justices of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
In the 2023 presidential election, Momodu, who accompanied PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, accused the judges of inverting the country’s Constitution.
President Bola Tinubu demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt on Wednesday, according to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, that he won the 2023 elections.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the winner of the 2023 presidential election. Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party had gone before the Tribunal to contest this decision.
Both Obi and Atiku have said that they will appeal to the Supreme Court after failing at the Tribunal through their deputies.
Momodu responded, saying, “I watched in total amazement and wonderment as our Constitution was openly and purposefully turned upside down by persons who lack a sense of history and could give a damn about the outcome of history.
“Pity, not fury, is what all men and women of good conscience should feel for them… Momodu posted on X, “NIGERIA SHALL BE FREE…
