Director-General of the Confederation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Kailani Muhammad, applauded the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) upholding the election of President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement released on Thursday in Abuja, Muhammad said that the verdict served as a reminder of Nigerians’ belief in Tinubu’s ability to continue guiding the country towards its glorious destiny.

The Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, claimed that the 2023 presidential election was rigged in favour of Tinubu, but the PEPC rejected their claim in its lead judgement, which was read by Justice Abba Mohammed on Wednesday in Abuja.

The director-general praised Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, and the APC for winning the PEPC.

“The tribunal’s decision has once more given the mandate freely granted to the president by the Nigerian people in the 2023 presidential election a judicial seal.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should take the affirmation of his election as a reminder of the confidence of Nigerians in his capacity to continue leading Nigeria towards its manifest destiny of greatness,” he added.

He asserts that the Nigerian people should fully cooperate with his administration in order to realise the objectives of the president’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” since they have high hopes for it.

Muhammad also applauded the opposition parties for adopting the constitutionally mandated legal channel to address their complaints.

He challenged them to work together with the nation’s leaders and citizens to create Nigeria.

The PEPT had ruled on Wednesday that Obi and the LP had failed to provide substantial evidence to support their claim that the election that took place on February 25th was marred by overt corruption.
