PEPC decision based on facts, not feelings, says APC chief
Mr. Jesutega Onokpasa, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), claims that the Presidential Election Petition Court’s (PEPC) decision on Wednesday was founded on facts rather than feelings.
At a virtual news conference held on Thursday in Abuja, Onokpasa, a lawyer, stated that the petitioners were seeking legal redress because President Bola Tinubu’s election victory was based on feelings rather than facts.
The petitioners squandered our time as Nigerians, as well as the time of the court and the solicitors, making the entire legal process a waste of time.
“The position of the law is not sentimental, but factual,” he declared.
Many people attempted to undermine and intimidate the judiciary at the PEPC, according to Onokpasa, a member of the disbanded APC Presidential Campaign Council, but they were unsuccessful.
He said that the FCT was now on par with other states as a result of the disputed Abuja judgement on 25% votes.
The controversial 25% vote in Abuja, he continued, “was an attempt to elevate some citizens above others.”
