Football manager Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, part ways after three decades of marriage, marking the end of a long-standing relationship.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife, Cristina Serra, have chosen to separate after being together for 30 years.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Periodico on Monday, the separation was characterized as amicable, cordial, and stable.

The couple initially crossed paths in 1994 and exchanged vows in 2014 near Barcelona. Over time, their relationship is said to have become strained, largely because of Guardiola’s intensive managerial responsibilities across various countries over the past five years.

Guardiola and Serra have three children together: Maria, aged 24; Marius, aged 22; and Valentina, who is 17. Guardiola currently lives in Manchester, while Serra—a journalist from Brazil—resides in Barcelona with their youngest child, Valentina.

Even though they were separated, the couple spent Christmas with their children. They reportedly decided to divorce in December and informed close friends and family, requesting that they respect their privacy during this time.

In 2019, Serra departed from Manchester to embark on a career in fashion with her family’s business, Serra Claret.

The announcement of the divorce followed just weeks after Guardiola extended his contract with Manchester City for two more years, pledging to remain at the club until 2027. Despite rumors about him possibly leaving, Guardiola has demonstrated a strong commitment to continuing his football responsibilities.
