According to his Will, which also makes reference to a woman who may be Pele’s unrecognised daughter, the late football icon Pele’s widow would receive 30% of his assets, the widow’s attorney told AFP on Tuesday.

According to Marcia Cibele Aoki’s attorney Luiz Kignel, Pele’s third and final wife would receive his home in Guaruja, a beach resort town south of Sao Paulo, where the couple resided.

Additional possessions of Pele, who passed away in late December at age 82 following a battle with cancer, include other real estate and a stake in the Pele brand, according to Kignel, who added that a full inventory had not yet been made.

Pele’s offspring, including a possible unrecognised daughter, will receive the remaining 70%.

According to Kignel, “He suggested there might be another daughter, whose identification will depend on a DNA test, which (on Pele) could not be done owing to the epidemic and the condition of his health.

The woman in question, who is a Brazilian national, has filed legal papers seeking recognition as Pele’s daughter, claims Kignel.

According to the G1 website, a Sao Paulo court ordered Pele to take a DNA test in September 2022. It is now necessary to administer the test to one of his seven known offspring.
