Daniel Bwala, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), paid a visit to the Presidential Villa on Wednesday to meet with President Bola Tinubu.
During the meeting, Bwala expressed his unwavering support for the President. Following the meeting, Bwala, who previously served as a spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election, spoke to the States House correspondents and stated that he had accepted the President’s invitation. Bwala emphasized that he considered Tinubu to be a father figure for the nation and commended his recent policy decisions, which he believed demonstrated a commitment to the welfare of the people.
When asked about the possibility of leaving the PDP and joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bwala clarified that his visit to the President was in his capacity as a private citizen and not as a representative of the PDP. He emphasized his dedication to the country and the collective effort to bring about positive change.
However, it is important to acknowledge that I have a significant past with the President during my time in the APC. Prior to the primaries, I served as his primary spokesperson and wholeheartedly supported his cause because I genuinely believed in him.
Furthermore, I would like to express my unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his pursuit of resolving the challenges faced by our nation. In a time of widespread hunger and numerous issues plaguing the country, it is inappropriate for anyone to prioritize party discussions. As for defection, only God knows what the future holds.
