PDP warns Imo natives to reject Uzodinma’s “Operation Show Your PVC” for palliative care

The alleged Operation Show Your PVC for Palliative has been denounced by the Peoples Democratic Party governorship campaign council in Imo State, who warned the state’s residents to disregard it because it is a scheme by the state’s governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, and top APC officials to forcibly seize their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC).

This warning was issued by the opposition party on Wednesday in a statement that Ikenna Onuoha, the director of media and publicity for the Imo PDP (Sam-Jones) Governorship Campaign Council in Owerri, Imo State, made accessible to OBASANJO NEWS24.

The PDP said that Uzodinma is fighting for access to Imo residents’ PVCs in order to allow his government to rig the November 11 governorship election because he believes that the populace has abandoned him.

The exercise was referred to as a Greek gift intended to expose the party’s personal identification numbers to scavengers.

In a statement, the PDP claims that Uzodinma has so far given the remaining painkillers to sole administrators, commissioners, special advisers, and other government functionaries with strict instructions to only provide them to APC members who have Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

This means that Imo residents who belong to other political parties, including as the Labour Party, APGA, SDP, NNPP, PDP, and others, are not eligible to participate.

The Federal Government’s sharing template is violated by this development, which is also alarming, criminal, and wicked. It also shows how petty and vengeful Uzodinma’s administration is to have used the free-will gift to annoy the Imo people.

“There can be no longer be any question that the actions of Uzodinma and his party leaders vindicate earlier media reports that the APC government in the state diverted more than N2 billion from the intervention funds and distributed more than 50,000 bags of the contingent to relatives, friends, and well-wishers at the expense of Imo residents.

As a result of Uzodinma and his aimless administration using the gift as a weapon to keep the Imo people in poverty, the Imo state government’s reputation is currently at risk and has been severely damaged in the eyes of the international community. This is because other states in the nation freely and sincerely distribute palliatives to residents of their states regardless of party affiliations or PVCs.

“As an organisation that upholds the rule of law, what Uzodinma and the APC are currently doing in the state has verified the implication that the APC government in the state is willfully orchestrating the widespread hunger, malnutrition, and suffering endured by the Imo people now and in the past.

“While we advise the people of Imo to reject this Greek gift intended to expose their private identification numbers to scavengers or to exchange their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) with two and a half cups of rice from Uzodinma, the people of Imo are to remain vigilant that Uzodinma is attempting to access their PVCs in order to enable his government to rig the November 11 Governorship election, after it appears to him that the people have abandoned him.
