The Governors’ Forum of the People Democratic Party (PDP) has pledged to regain all leadership positions currently held by rival political parties.
At the Government House in Enugu on Wednesday, Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, pledged during the forum’s meeting opening.
According to him, their presence in Enugu signifies a groundbreaking and determined step for the party, showcasing both its unique character and ambitious spirit.
Today, we have gathered to come together with a united purpose of discussing topics that impact our party and matters amongst ourselves.
According to him, “We will cover the governance of all parties’ administration within our agenda. Additionally, we’ll address inter-party matters and congress while taking necessary steps in presenting viable options to Nigerians.”
He stated that the gathering will comprise of PDP governors, along with other party stakeholders such as the national working committee and diverse organs within the party.
The governor emphasized that based on their evaluation at a national level, the country was headed towards chaos. He stated firmly that they would not permit it as Nigerians share both history and aspirations.
He said that the party must now reclaim its leadership position in all states currently being occupied by other parties as it’s long overdue.
Governor Peter Mbah was praised by Mohammed for organizing the meeting and providing them with care since their arrival on Tuesday.
Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Umo Eno of Akwa-Ibom, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Caleb Mutfwang from Plateau State and Agbu Kefas as well as Dauda Lawal representing Zamfara States were all in attendance at the meeting based on reports by the News Agency Nigeria.
Ahmed Fintiri from Adamawa, Douye Diri from Bayelsa and Peter Mbah who is the host governor from Enugu State are among others.
