Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, Pius Anyim, the former president of the Senate, Professor Dennis Ityavyar, and Aslam Aliyu have all been suspended by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to suspected anti-party activity.

The situation was detailed in a statement released on Thursday by Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s national publicity secretary.

The statement claims that “the suspension, which takes effect on Thursday, was reached following an exhaustive assessment of the party’s operations, in accordance with the PDP Constitution (as modified in 2017).”

As a result of his alleged participation in anti-party actions, the main opposition party also submitted Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to the National Disciplinary Committee.

The statement went on to say that “the PDP urges all leaders, significant stakeholders, and the teeming members of our party across the country to remain together and focused at this crucial moment.”
