In the meantime, the PDP has disagreed with the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to fire Governor Adeleke.

Some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters who were protesting the ouster of incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke on Friday stopped some key routes in Osogbo and Ilesa, Osun State, on Saturday.

In addition to blocking Osogbo/Ikirun Road, the demonstrators also stopped Gbongan/Osogbo Road, preventing commercial motorcycle riders from going about their usual business in the town.

The demonstrators in Osogbo shut down the well-known Oke-Fia Junction, preventing free traffic flow.

Also, the well-known roundabout in Ilesa was closed to traffic, requiring commuters to take detours to get to their respective destinations.

Similar demonstrations were staged in other significant towns throughout the state, with the governor being urged to make sure he regains the appellate court’s support.

In the meantime, the PDP has disagreed with the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to fire Governor Adeleke.

According to a statement released by the PDP’s spokesman, Debo Ologunagba, “The verdict of the tribunal is contrary to the will of the people of Osun State, which was reflected by the overwhelming votes cast for our party and candidate at the election.”

The election in July 2022, according to the PDP and Governor Ademola Adeleke, was largely regarded as being “free, fair, transparent, and definitely won by the PDP in support of the wants and aspirations of the people.”

“Respect must be shown for the Osun State people’s expressed will in electing Governor Adeleke.” As a law-abiding party, the PDP would look into all legitimate options to reclaim our party’s victory.
