Opposition lawmakers in the House of Representatives expressed their views on President Bola Tinubu’s use of commercial flights in the absence of presidential planes during a recent debate.
The Minority Leader and Minority Whip suggested that Tinubu should consider using commercial flights, citing the recent breakdown of presidential flights as a reason.
A lawmaker from Borno State raised concerns over the security implications of using chartered commercial flights and called for the National Security Adviser and the Commandant of the Presidential Fleet to be summoned.

The comments made by the lawmakers received applause from the minority bench, with many supporting the idea of public officials using commercial flights.
The minority leader also emphasized the need to maintain the Presidential Fleet and consider the possibility of acquiring new presidential planes in the upcoming budget.
However, the Deputy Speaker ruled that the issue was not serious enough for further deliberation.
