Several members of the House of Representatives from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are calling for the resignation of the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, alleging his collaboration with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Led by Chinyere Ukenga, the lawmakers held a press briefing at the House of Representatives Media Centre to express their concerns.
Ukenga accused Damagum of planning to hand over the party to the APC and prolong his control over its leadership.

Referring to the ongoing crisis in Rivers State regarding party leadership, Ukenga claimed that Damagum is colluding with the ruling party to undermine the PDP.
The lawmakers issued a warning that they would leave the party if Damagum does not resign before the next NEC meeting.
