Prior to the 2023 General Elections, the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization named the Ekiti State presidential campaign council on Sunday.

Bisi Kolawole, who ran for governor of the state as a PDP candidate and just lost, was named chairman of the council, and Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe was named vice chairman.

Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of the state, and Biodun Olujimi, the senator who represents Ekiti South Constituency, were left off the list.

“The Peoples Democratic Party has approved the composition of the Presidential Campaign Council for Ekiti State subject to NEC-approved criteria,” stated a press release signed and issued by the Director-General, PCO, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

Tambuwal says that the goal of the campaign council is to make sure that the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, wins the next general elections.
