The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State announced that it is currently reviewing the ruling of the Lagos Court of Appeal, which rejected the primary arguments put forth by Dr. AbdulAzeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the party’s candidate for governor in the March election, regarding the ruling of the Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal.

In response to the ruling rendered by the Lagos Appeal Court in favour of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat, the party issued a statement stating that it would not back down from its efforts to take all necessary steps to advance democracy.

Recall that on September 25, 2023, the Election Petition Tribunal denied Jandor’s petition against Governor Sanwo-Olu in relation to the 2023 elections. On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, the Court of Appeal rendered its decision and rejected Jandor’s arguments challenging the Election Tribunal’s ruling.

PDP quickly urged its devoted supporters to maintain composure and refrain from any actions that might “disrupt the harmony and order of our society,” but it declined to provide a detailed analysis of the ruling at this time, according to a statement released by its spokesperson, Hon. Hakeem Amode.

“As a party, we will carefully review the judgement after receiving the Certified True Copy, and we will then give specific instructions to our legal team.”

Without a doubt, the foundations of democracy form the basis of our party’s principles, and we are committed to promoting an inclusive society that looks out for the interests of all of its members.

The party declared, “We firmly believe that the legal process is the appropriate avenue for addressing our concerns, and we are unwavering in our resolve to pursue our case until it reaches a just and lawful resolution.”

“We continue to have the utmost faith in the people of Lagos State, who deserve the best.” Should the chance present itself, our party is unwavering in its commitment to serving the people to the utmost degree,” it declared.
