The general schedule, outlining the election events leading up to next month’s poll on July 13, was released by the Adamawa State Independent election Commission (ADSIEC) on Tuesday.
By announcing a schedule and hosting a meeting with party representatives at its Yola offices, ADSIEC successfully kicked off election-related activities and promised a free and fair poll for all political parties.
The PDP stated that members seeking to be councillors would need to pay N100,000 for a nomination form and N20,000 for an expression of interest form, for a total of N120,000 for an aspirant councillor, at the release of its own schedule on Wednesday.
The head of the Adamawa PDD, Barr. Tahir Shehu, stated that the nomination form sales will take place from June 7 to June 12, 2024, and that the party schedule was created with careful respect for the electoral dates provided by ADSIEC for the July 13 council election.
According to him, completed forms must be returned by June 13–14. The chairmanship and councilorship primaries are scheduled for June 22 and June 21, respectively.
