The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) recently held a meeting in Abuja, where the details of the gathering were disclosed by Debo Ologunagba, the party’s National Publicity Secretary.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, 15 resolutions made by the NEC were revealed. One of the key highlights of the meeting was the party’s criticism of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration, particularly regarding the ongoing economic and security crises plaguing the nation.

The communique highlighted that the 98th NEC meeting extensively evaluated the current state of affairs in both the nation and the party itself. In response to the challenges faced, the NEC expressed commendation for the unwavering resilience, steadfastness, and commitment displayed by all party organs in upholding the unity, stability, and continuity of the PDP.

Special recognition was given to the party’s members, particularly the youth and women, for their bravery in resisting the divisive and anti-people actions of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which has been accused of attempting to undermine the opposition and establish a one-party state.

The NEC also expressed deep concern over the poorly executed policies of the APC administration, which have resulted in worsening insecurity, severe economic hardships, skyrocketing unemployment rates, and exorbitant costs of essential commodities, leading to widespread misery and despair across the country.

The committee further condemned the escalating acts of terrorism, violence, mindless killings, mass abductions, and the rampant destruction of communities in various parts of Nigeria.

In addition, the NEC strongly criticized the APC administration for its insensitivity, indifference, incompetence, and arrogance, accusing it of displaying a complete lack of interest or commitment towards the welfare of Nigerians.

The committee also voiced its condemnation of the growing tendencies towards a one-party state, which it deemed detrimental to the peace, stability, and existence of the nation, as well as the overall development of the country.
