Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, Legal Adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), vehemently refuted the accusations of accepting a $2 million bribe to dismiss the sack suit against Rivers State House of Assembly members.

He issued a stern warning to those responsible for spreading these allegations, urging them to retract the claims immediately or face legal consequences.

In response to a report published by an online media outlet on May 16, 2024, titled “PDP Legal Adviser Allegedly Receives $2m To File A Secret Court Paper Against Sacking Of Rivers APC Lawmakers Until Fubara Is Sacked,” Ajibade clarified that the information was not only misleading but also damaging to his reputation and professional standing.

The report, attributed to the PDP Stakeholders Forum, implicated the acting national chairman of the party, Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum, along with the national legal adviser in receiving the alleged bribe.

It further claimed that the money was received on behalf of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to facilitate legal maneuvers to prevent the declaration of seats of defected Rivers State House of Assembly members as vacant.

Ajibade, in a letter to the media outlet, emphasized that the publication was defamatory and aimed at tarnishing his character, emphasizing that he had no involvement in the alleged bribery scheme.
