As the PDP faces a leadership crisis, Ologbondiyan appeals to party leaders Atiku and Wike to let the party resolve its internal conflicts peacefully, urging unity and cooperation for the future of the party.

On Wednesday, Kola Ologbondiyan, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urged Nigerians to give the party space to operate freely.

Ologbondiyan issued the statement in response to the conflict between Atiku Abubakar, a former presidential candidate of the PDP, and Nyesom, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Emphasizing that the party holds greater significance than just Atiku and Wike, the former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP encouraged them to reconcile for the party’s benefit.

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, the PDP leader stated that the party should not be reduced to aligning with either Wike’s or Atiku’s faction views.

The PDP is currently facing a leadership crisis that began during the lead-up to the 2023 presidential election.

The disagreement caused Wike to oppose Atiku and the PDP in the presidential election.

Wike established the G-5 Integrity group within the PDP, comprising four former governors and one sitting governor, who supported President Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).

Ologbondiyan expressed his hope for a time when the PDP can operate freely, without being overshadowed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar or the current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

The PDP represents more than just two individuals; it is a party composed of millions. It cannot be indefinitely diminished to the viewpoints or opinions of any one group or another.

What about those who remain neutral and have progressed past the election and the 2023 convention?
