Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal has promised to stay focused on carrying out the state’s development initiatives, even after the Appeal Court ruled that the results of the election on March 18 were inconclusive.

This was said by Lawal to a gathering of party supporters in Gusau not long after he got back from Abuja.

He urged supporters to maintain composure and abide by the law, asserting that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would win even in the event of a statewide repeat.

“We don’t need to fear; we are aware that the individuals who voted for us in the past are still willing to do so.

We remain steadfast in our resolve to save the state, as seen by the numerous ongoing development initiatives around the state.

“We want to rewrite the history of our socioeconomic advancement,” he declared.

Acting State PDP Chairman Muktar Lugga, on his part, praised the party faithful for turning out in large numbers to greet the governor.

He claimed that the rally showed support for and devotion to the state government.

Obasanjo News24 recalls that the Zamfara governorship election on March 18 was ruled to be inconclusive by the Court of Appeal, which is located in Abuja.

Lawal (PDP)’s re-election as the governorship winner was void by the three-member panel headed by Justice Oyebisi Folayemi and endorsed by Justices Cordelia Ifeoma Jombo-Ofo and Sybil Nwaka Gbagi.

In three Local Government Areas where elections had not been held before or where the results of different polling places had not been tallied, the court ordered new elections.
