Thirteen governors, who were elected under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), are gathering in Enugu for a scheduled meeting of the PDP Governors Forum on Wednesday.

One of the governors who visited Government House in Enugu to show their presence and meet with host Governor Dr. Peter Mbah was Senator Bala Mohammed, the Chairman of the Forum as well as governor of Bauchi State.

Governors Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Umo Eno of Akwa-Ibom, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Caleb Mutfwang from Plateau state were joined by Agbu Kefas representing Taraba State while Dauda Lawal represented Zamfara and Ahmed Fintiri was present on behalf of Adamawa.

As of press time, the anticipated arrivals were Osun State governor Senator Ademola Adeleke and his Bayelsa State counterpart Senator Douye Diri.

It is expected that discussions during the meeting will revolve around the upcoming party congresses, Edo and Ondo governorship elections, internal issues within PDP as well as national affairs despite an undisclosed agenda.

The PDP Governors’ Forum was established on February 24, 2013 under the tenure of ex-President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to facilitate sharing of insights and experiences among governors towards advancing the party’s agenda as well as better alignment of their states’ programmes and policies.

On Tuesday night, the host governor, Dr. Mbah hosted a cultural event to honor the visiting governors who were already in attendance.
